This one too a while.

This is a retouched oekaki. The original picture was drawn on the NDA oekaki board. I kept re-drawing parts of the picture, because I was never quite satisfied with the picture. I think it turned out rather well, though.

I was also playing around a bit with textures in Photoshop, on this one. Mainly when working on the background. I tried to give the sky a bit of texture, so it doesn't look too flat. :)

Hopefully the texture looks more like texture and less like fail now. :)


The towers were probably inspired by some of the awesome things that ~VampirePrincess007 and *jermilex make.
That's what those towers remind me of, at least. :)

he's cute. I like his pose and the angle you put on the pic. I like the shine on his armor, but I'm not surprised caused your lighting skills are always pretty darn good :D.
Only thing that seems to need work in my opinion, would be the wings. like on the left (his right), the line you have showing the fold, seems like it should be going the other way. Kina hard to say what I'm thinkin here :P. It looks like the line should be attached to the other half of the wing and run from left to right upward. But that could just be me. I might should look up some wing pics :blushes: other than that, some fur tuffs on his legs might be a good touch.
I really like his face and the way you've done the background.

Ah. I think I see what you're talking about.
Although, if it was the other direction, the tip of the wing would appear closer then the rest. I was trying to show that the wing is going toward the background a little bit.

Fur tufts on the legs might be good, though. They are kind of smooth as it is...

no probs. I was just checking out those artists you mentioned, wow :aww: they have some nice pieces. I love a lot of the colorful fantasy style scenes in jermilex's gallery. and vampireprincess is an awesome artist with dragons, especialy for her age. thanks for mentioning em :)

I find it very helpful, personally. So far the only issue I'm having is if I want to draw the wings side-on as it doesn't show that kind of angle.
