I have a feeling that DA might mess with the saturation of the image a bit, so I may upload a few quick edits, to try and get things right... I don't exactly have the best track record with art trades, so I'm hoping that it works out well this time.
I tried some of the techniques that I used in my last picture, to try and refine the style a bit... There is more line art in this picture again, and it is more noticeable this time. That is mainly because of the lighting, and the details I wanted to show. That makes the picture a bit less realistic, but I hope that the added awesomeness makes up for that a bit.
So, I prefer to use vector programs like inkscape and adobe illustrator when I do art. But you are so amazing with color in ways that I am not sure anyone can be with vector that sometimes you make me reconsider photoshop. lol xD Great job!
I've seen some rather amazing vector art around, but it is a different sort of style. Usually when I see vector art, it either uses cel shading, or very sharp lines. I think photoshop can handle blending colors and gradients a bit better, but I don't have too much experience with vector art, so I may be off base. It all comes down to preference in the end.
Yeah, it's possible to blend colors with vector art, and with Adobe's gradient mesh you can even get photorealism, but in my experience it is a lot more difficult to do that with vector than raster programs like photoshop x3 I can't get anywhere near your level of mastery with raster though xD "Chromamancer" is a fitting name for you xD
