Well, I've finished preparing a selection of my art from 2010, in calendar form. Picking the pieces that I wanted to include was rather difficult. They are not in order. I tried to position them in a way that balances out the calendar. I didn't quite make my Christmas goal, but better late than never.
I think a seasonal theme would have probably worked better, but I had several people ask about some of these pictures, and did not have time to complete a seasonal picture for each month. That will be one of my goals for the coming year.
I'm a little nervous uploading this, because It's my first time trying anything like this, but I figure it'll be an interesting experience... It's a new experience, so it's like an art adventure, in a way. I've also made some changes to the coloring on several images on this calendar. The most notable changes are listed below.
[link] has better differentiation between foreground and background. [link] has improved coloring and a slightly brighter sky. The coloring on [link] has been changed to make it much more dramatic. The coloring on [link] is a bit smoother and has a bit better balance.
Please let me know your opinions on this. Now that I've done it once, I might make this a tradition...
Oh, all of these look magnificent! I particularly like April and October the most
One thing is that, I think the title page could be changed a bit, it is nice, but I find the white and letters to be very hard to look at. I think it would look better if you kept the image the way it is without the white on top and added some brighter text, like on this calendar [link] It is just a suggestion, but I think the cover you have here looks nice as well
I think you should definitely do this as a tradition, your work is so vibrant, colourful, and full of life, albeit so many people would love your calendars ^^
Thank you very much for the feedback on this one. I delayed replying to this one because I wanted it to sit in with my messages, so I had the link. It also gave me a little time to think it over.
It's my first attempt at a calendar, so I decided to just sort of wing it, as far as those cover designs go. I think I'll probably revise those covers later tonight. Perhaps with white text on the front, or maybe I'll try to move the text on the front off to the sides, like the calendar in the link. That could be a nice improvement.
I'm hoping to make it a tradition. It may be an interesting way to observe my progress, too.
Maybe I'll try printing a few up some time and see if I can sell a few at a con or something.
I haven't printed any yet, though. Right now, the only to get them is through DA.
Currently, I'm thinking of making this into a tradition.

Well it's all up to you, I think it will turn out beautifully either way
It definitely would be!
